How did you get involved with DECA?
During my freshman year, I was in my Marketing Principles class when Mr. Hutch told me about this exciting club known as DECA. He talked to me about competition and it really interested me, so I decided to try it out.
What is your goal for competing this year?
My goal is to place in the Top 3 at state and possibly become a finalist at ICDC next year!
What are you most excited for this upcoming year in DECA?
I am so excited for ICDC! It’s in Atlanta this year, and I can’t wait to just hang out with everyone and have the time of our lives! I am also excited for all the amazing events we have planned for the school year!

What has been your best DECA memory?
My best DECA memory had to be my sophomore year when I was called on stage for the first time at state. It was so nice to finally see that all my hard work payed off. Also California was an amazing time! I have never experienced anything like that and all that was possible because of DECA.
What have you gained from your DECA experience?
DECA has really prepared me for the future! It has not only taught me the basics of marketing such as professionalism and public speaking, but it has also taught me to never give up and work harder. Every year I strive to do better than the last, and I feel like that is so valuable. Overcome your obstacles and be confident in whatever you do. I hope to take the experiences and the lessons I have learned from DECA to better myself as a person and better the future that lies ahead!
